The Labyrinth
All are welcome to use St. Hugh’s Labyrinth Above the Bay, a community labyrinth at St. Hugh Episcopal Church in Allyn, that is ready for you to walk.
Labyrinths are being used world-wide as a way to quiet the mind, recover a balance in life, and to encourage meditation, insight, self-reflection, and stress reduction, as well as to celebrate life’s experiences. The practice of labyrinth walking can integrate the body with the mind and the mind with the spirit.
A Labyrinth is a single, circuitous path that winds its way through all four quadrants to the center. Generally there are three stages to the walk: releasing on the way in; receiving in the center; and returning when you follow the path back out of the labyrinth.
Our community labyrinth is located at the end of the path that leads you from the parking lot around to the back of the church, where you can also enjoy a view of North Bay. Brochures are available near the labyrinth with suggestions for use.
The labyrinth is available during daylight hours each day of the week. If you would like to bring a group, please let us know in advance.
